a) National Seminar On Evolving Extension Science towards Secondary Agriculture for Sustainable Development- 2023

The national seminar on Evolving Extension Science towards Secondary Agriculture for Sustainable Development was organised from 22 nd to 24 th June 2023 at the GKVK campus of the University of Agricultural Sciences, Bangalore. The seminar was organised by the University Agricultural Sciences, Bangalore and the Indian society of extension education, New Delhi in collaboration with several state and national level organisations concerned with secondary agriculture.
The seminar had ten themes relating to secondary agriculture and other aspects. The seminar was inaugurated by Kumari Shoba Karandlaje, Hon’ble Union Minster of State for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare on 22nd June 2023. In her address she said that the country is self- sufficient with food production and now there is need to think over Agri Business and Agricultural marketing issues.

b) Animal Health Campaign at RAWEP village
Seventeen animal health camps were organized at 17 RAWEP villages of Chikkaballapura and Bengaluru Rural Districts as a part of Rural Agricultural Work Experience Programme (RAWEP) under Student READY Programme cosponsored by Institution of Agricultural Technologists (IAT), Bengaluru. In this programme, faculty of Gynaecologists of College of Veterinary, Hebbal, Bengaluru – 560 065, KMF Veterinary Doctors and State Department of Veterinary were involved in the programme. During this camp, the animals were 1241 animals dewormed, 2348 animals treated and 408 animals vaccinated; precautions were given to the owners of the animals. In this process, RAWEP students helped the Doctors and Farmers by handling the animals with utmost care, dewormed and mineral mixtures were distributed for better management of the animals.

c) Institution of Agricultural Technologists, Bengaluru extended Financial Assistance to Karnataka Pomegranate Growers Association to organize Pomegranate Growers and Buyers Conclave on 19th October 2023 at Devanahally.

d) Institution of Agricultural Technologists, Bengaluru Co-sponsored 8 th Asian PGPR National Conference on “Beneficial Microbes for integrated plant health management” at College of Horticulture, Bengaluru during September 19-21, 2023

Report on Animal Health Camp under Rural Agricultural Work Experience Programme 2022-23

As a part of Rural Agricultural Work Experience Programme (RAWEP) under Student READY Programme jointly sponsored IAT and Alumni Association, UAS, Hebbal, Bengaluru Animal Health Camp was organized in 18 RAWEP villages of Tumkur, Ramanagar, Chikkaballapura and Bengaluru Rural Districts. In this programme from Gynaecologists of College of Veterinary, Hebbal, Bengaluru, KMF Veterinary Doctors and State Department of Veterinary were involved in the programme. During this camp the animals were dewormed, treated and vaccinated; precautions were given to the owners of the animals. In this process RAWEP students helped the Doctors and Farmers by handling the animals with utmost care, dewormed and mineral mixtures distributed for better management of the animals.
